Another solid Multi-Track available for night 3 in Colorado. Maybe it was the acoustics in the Glenn Miller Ballroom but this is probably my least favorite recording of the bunch. With that said, it’s still one of the best sounding recordings from this time period.

An MC starts off by going over upcoming events and informing the audience that Phish broke up backstage before the show. “Phish 2000!” took their place. On a side note, looking forward, I love how Fish references the band as “Phish 2000” at Cypress. It’s also interesting that the band broke up (took a hiatus) in 2000. Golgi starts things off and it takes a bit for the recording mix to settle into a good spot. Landlady>Bouncin’ seems to be the new pair following DaaM>Bouncin’. Nice Sky. Strong mid set Mike’s Groove. Beautiful version of Esther. Possum seamlessly moves into Buried Alive following an I Let a Song Go Out of My Heart signal during the opening segment. They transition back into Possum and deliver a fire version to close out the first half.

Suzy opens up the second half. It’s not as strong as Armstrong Halls version but also features Fish calling out “a neurologist?!?” again. Cl. Forbin>Mockingbird has no Mockingbird rap. Mockingbird is teased during the MSO intro. Great YEM with a fantastic vocal jam! The hardest working man is show business plays his bone during I Didn’t Know. The Bowie to follow is well known to most. I must say I haven’t heard this set since my cassette trading days. The teases during the hi-hat hijinx are masterful. The jam doesn’t go too far off the beaten path but it’s tight as f@$ck! What a way to close a set! The Lawn Boy, La Grange encore was a nice way to end a fire set.
